Recognition of tongue-tie as a possible cause of breastfeeding problems is increasing; numerous new procedures for diagnosis and treatment have been established in the last few years. At the same time, there is still no generally accepted evidence-based guideline; there are currently intensive discussions on this subject. For this reason, we would like to present the convictions of recognised experts from ELACTA member countries in this field, some of which complement each other and some of which contradict each other, in one article in order to provide an overview of the current state of affairs.
